Fulani herders in Benue increase the number of orphans – Ortom

Benue Governor Samuel Ortom has blamed Fulani herdsmen for the state’s soaring number of orphans and internally displaced persons (IDPs).

Orphanage homes and IDP camps across Benue State, according to Ortom, are brimming with orphans who have lost hope for the future.

“Some became orphans after their parents were killed by terrorist Fulani herdsmen.

“My wife and I picked up four orphans from the Mama Abayor Orphanage three years ago, and we’ve been taking care of them ever since,” he said.
