The Delta State Police Command has arrested six suspects in separate operations targeting armed robbery, attempted murder and stealing, recovering three locally made firearms, eight live cartridges, a jackknife and a kitchen knife.

The arrests were made by operatives of the Orerokpe, Agbor and Otu-Jeremi Divisions between October 11 and 12, 2026.

In a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State Command, SP Bright Edafe, ANIPR, FCIA, FIPMD, on October 15, the Command disclosed that two suspected armed robbers were arrested along Osubi Road following intelligence received from the Civilian Anti-Cult Group, Osubi.

According to the statement, operatives of Orerokpe Division, working with civilian anti-cult operatives and local vigilantes, intercepted a tricycle with registration number BDG 429 QN on October 11 and arrested Musa Haruna, 22, and Mubarack Abdulahi, 20.

A search of the tricycle reportedly led to the recovery of a locally made cut-to-size double-barrelled shotgun, seven live cartridges and a jackknife.

Preliminary investigations allegedly linked the suspects to a criminal syndicate involved in robbing and abducting unsuspecting passengers and forcing them to transfer money from their bank accounts.

The police said efforts were ongoing to identify and arrest other suspected members of the syndicate.

In a separate incident, operatives of Agbor Division arrested a 25-year-old suspect, Paul Francis, following a distress call over an attempted armed robbery at Alifekede Village on October 12.

The suspect allegedly attempted to rob a woman and stabbed her on the forehead, inflicting serious injuries before he was apprehended.

In another operation, operatives of Otu-Jeremi Division arrested three suspects in connection with the alleged theft of ₦2 million and other valuables from a residence in Okwagbe Waterside Community.

The police said the incident was reported on October 10, following the alleged theft of a Point-of-Sale (POS) machine, an Infinix mobile phone and ₦2 million belonging to a female victim.
