Super Eagles have new squad for 2021 AFCON, After the exclusion of Osimhen, three others

The final 28-man Nigerian squad for the 33rd Africa Cup of Nations has been altered.

The changes were announced by the Nigeria Football Federation’s spokesperson, Ademola Olajire, in a statement released on Friday.

The substitution of Henry Onyekuru for Napoli forward Victor Osimhen was one of the most significant changes.

Also, the exclusion of Cyprus-based Abdullahi Shehu allowed for the return of Tyrone Ebuehi, who is now with Venezia in the Italian Serie A, and the return of England-based Oluwasemilogo Ajayi for the injured Leon Balogun.

Emmanuel Dennis was replaced by Peter Olayinka, a forward from the Czech Republic.
