Security officers were killed in a bandit attack in Jibia Katsina.
1 min readBandits are said to have killed one soldier and an officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) at a military base in Shinfida community, Jibia Local Government Area, Katsina State.
By 10 p.m. Tuesday, the bandits were said to have stormed the base, shooting sporadically.
During the attack, they allegedly burned down two patrol vehicles and used another patrol vehicle to transport food from neighboring villages.
DSC Muhammad Abdara, a spokesman for the NSCDC in the state, confirmed the attack and the casualties.

The officers who were shot died instantly, while those who sustained gunshot wounds are being treated at an undisclosed hospital in the state.
“Terrorists attacked the military base located within Government Day Secondary School Shinfida last Tuesday,” the source was quoted as saying. They killed one soldier and one NSCDC officer on the spot, as well as injuring a large number of others.
“On their motorcycles, they attacked the military base. Despite military efforts, the terrorists killed the two victims and set fire to two patrol vehicles, one of which was loaded with food stolen from nearby villages.”
