NDC Candidate Onwubiko Felicitates Muslims in Amuwo Odofin Constituency II on Eid-ul-Mawlid

Hon. Thomas Victor Onwubiko (TVO), the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for the Lagos State House of Assembly, Amuwo Odofin Constituency II, has felicitated with Muslims across the constituency on the occasion of Eid-ul-Mawlid, commemorating the birth of Prophet Muhammad.
In a goodwill message, Onwubiko described Eid-ul-Mawlid as a significant occasion for Muslims to reflect on the teachings, values and exemplary life of Prophet Muhammad, particularly his commitment to peace, compassion, justice, humility and service to humanity.
He extended warm greetings to Muslim faithful in Amuwo Odofin Constituency II, urging them to use the celebration as an opportunity to strengthen their commitment to peaceful coexistence and community development.
According to him, the teachings of Prophet Muhammad remain relevant to the pursuit of a peaceful and prosperous society, stressing that values such as honesty, kindness, tolerance, fairness and respect for others are essential for building a better Nigeria.
“On this special occasion of Eid-ul-Mawlid, I extend my heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all Muslim brothers and sisters in Amuwo Odofin Constituency II and beyond.
“As we commemorate the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad, let us reflect on his exemplary life and the enduring lessons of peace, compassion, justice, humility, and service to humanity.
“May this celebration strengthen our faith, promote unity among our people, and inspire us to continue supporting one another, irrespective of our religious, ethnic or political differences,” he said.
The NDC candidate also called on residents to continue to promote peace and harmony within the constituency, noting that development can only thrive in an atmosphere of security, mutual respect, and cooperation.
Onwubiko emphasised the importance of religious tolerance and peaceful coexistence in a diverse society such as Nigeria, urging Muslims and Christians to continue working together for the progress of their communities.
He further prayed for divine blessings, protection, and prosperity for Muslim faithful and their families, while wishing residents a peaceful and memorable Eid-ul-Mawlid celebration.
He said the occasion should also remind leaders at all levels of the importance of putting the welfare of the people first and providing responsive and accountable leadership.
“As we celebrate, let us remember that leadership is a responsibility to serve humanity. The values demonstrated by Prophet Muhammad remind us that compassion, justice, accountability, and concern for the less privileged must remain at the heart of public service.
“I pray that Almighty Allah grants our people peace, good health, and prosperity and continues to bless Amuwo Odofin Constituency II and Lagos State,” Onwubiko added.
He also urged the people of the constituency to celebrate responsibly, extend love to the less privileged, and use the occasion to strengthen bonds among families, neighbours, and communities.
Onwubiko reiterated his commitment to working with all residents of Amuwo Odofin Constituency II, regardless of religious or political affiliation, towards achieving a safer, more inclusive and prosperous constituency.
He concluded by wishing Muslim faithful a blessed and peaceful Eid-ul-Mawlid, praying that the celebration would bring renewed hope, unity, and greater understanding among residents.
