Soyinka tells Buhari to find Bola Ige killers

Prof Wole Soyinka, a Nobel Laureate, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to apprehend those responsible for the assassination of Chief Bola Ige, a former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice.
Soyinka also wondered what had happened to Buhari’s promise to launch an investigation into Nigeria’s recent spate of political assassinations.

Soyinka urged Buhari to restore what he called “the broken lines of justice” in a letter to Ige’s daughter, Mrs. Funso Adegbola, on the occasion of the “20th Bola Ige Memorial Symposium: Two Decades of Injustice: What are the Implications on Nigerian Democracy?”
“President Muhammadu Buhari, what has happened to your firm promise to launch an investigation into the country’s recent spate of political assassinations?” he wrote. Is this just another example of political bravado? While we all agree that all lives should be valued equally, some people hold those in positions of power to a higher standard.
“Bola Ige, as the country’s Minister of Justice and UN civil servant designate, was unquestionably one of them. The honor of a nation is in jeopardy, and it will remain so until the hour of closure. As a result, she must never give up her demand for an explanation for his heinous murder. Restore the broken lines of justice by exposing the perpetrators, identifying the conspirators, and exposing the perpetrators.
