Alhaji Isa Kudan Ashiru, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Kaduna State in 2019, believes he won the election but was cheated out.

He promised that if he were to win the 2023 election, he would leave no stone unturned and follow the rules.

He stated that he is in politics to serve humanity and to provide his constituents with the benefits of democracy.

He stated that his desire to govern Kaduna State on the PDP platform was still intact during an interactive session with journalists in Kaduna.

“I intend to pursue it until success is achieved,” he says.

According to reports, Ashiru served two terms in the Kaduna State House of Assembly before moving to the House of Representatives, where he served another two terms.

He also ran against Governor Nasir El-Rufai on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2015, losing in the primaries, before joining the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2019 general elections, where he was elected as the candidate but defeated by Governor El-Rufai.

The PDP stalwart claimed to have a vision that, if given the chance, would transform people’s lives for the better, claiming that he is not in politics to serve himself but to serve the people.

“It’s a different world now. “I believe I have something better to offer to improve our people’s economic and social conditions, which is why I am running again,” he stated.

He stated that his goal is to ensure that the impact of governance is felt throughout the state, as well as to provide the necessary security.
