GOtv Boxing Night Returns December 24
2 min readThe 24th edition of GOtv Boxing Night (GOtv Boxing Night 24), which will take place on December 24 at the Molade Okoya-Thomas Indoor Sports Hall of the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos, will feature a World Boxing Federation (WBF) title fight, a national light heavyweight title fight, and a national cruiserweight title bout.
The event, which will be shown live on SuperSport Select 2 (GOtv Channel 34) and SuperSport Variety 4, will include one international and five domestic bouts across weight divisions (DStv Channel 209).
The event’s organizers, Flykite Productions, announced this at a press conference in Lagos on Wednesday.

Jennifer Ukoh-Osamwonyi, Public Relations Manager, GOtv Nigeria, spoke at the ceremony and expressed her joy at the progress made with the boxing event. For their support, she thanked the promoters, Flykite Productions, the Nigerian Boxing Board of Control (NBB of C), and the media.
“With the help of boxing fans, the NBB of C, and members of the media, we’ve come a long way,” she remarked.
The reigning WBF International welterweight champion, Nigeria’s Rilwan “Baby Face” Babatunde, will defend his title against Ghana’s Justice “Qwick Action” Addy, according to the match card.
There will also be two further title fights, both of which will be held in the United States. Segun “Success” Olanrewaju will fight for the national light heavyweight title against Adewale “Masevex” Masebinu, while Michael “Emirate” Godwin will battle for the national cruiserweight title against Abiodun “Infiniti” Afinni.

The Mojisola Ogunsanya Memorial Trophy comes with a cash award of N1 million for the best boxer at the event. Flykite introduced a new format for selecting the top boxer last month. The winner of the award will be decided by a nine-member panel using weighted scores under the new format.
