Delta CP Yemi Oyeniyi Visits Nigerian Army 63 Brigade, NDLEA to Strengthen Inter-Agency Synergy

The Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, psc, acipm, mnips, on Monday, 27 April 2026, undertook separate courtesy visits to the 63 Brigade Nigerian Army and the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency Delta State Command, accompanied by members of the Command Management Team, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen inter-agency collaboration in the fight against crime.
Across both engagements, the CP emphasised that crimes such as kidnapping, armed robbery, child trafficking, and drug-related offences are interconnected and require a unified, intelligence-led response. He appreciated the sustained support of both agencies and called for deeper collaboration, noting that no single agency can effectively address security challenges alone. At NDLEA Command the CP stressed the need for joint action against drug trafficking and abuse, describing it as a major driver of crime and a threat to the youth.
In their respective responses, the Brigade Commander, Brigadier General M.A Shonibare, and the State Commander, CN Halilu Hamidu, PhD, commended the Delta State Police Command for its efforts and reaffirmed their commitment to sustained partnership. Both leaders emphasised the importance of intelligence sharing, joint operations, and institutional cooperation in maintaining peace and security.
The separate visits underscore the Command’s resolve to strengthen inter-agency synergy and promote a coordinated approach to crime prevention and public safety across Delta State.
