On Saturday October 19th, 2024, a distress call was put across to the police from a CDA leader in Isheri Ijegun community that a suspected tricyclist was seen carrying bags of foreign rice from Fagbile area, Ayanwale CDA.
The DPO then mobilised anti crime and patrol teams of Isheri Police Division to the scene which led to the arrest of the suspected thief who’s a tricyclist popularly called keke rider.
On sighting the police, the rider and one other accomplice abandoned the tricycle and took to their heels. A search was carried out and one Taofeek Oladimeji ‘M’ aged 23 was arrested, he was identified by the mandated reporter, the CDA leader as one of the occupants of the tricycle conveying stolen food stuff.
The exhibits which includes: 10 bags of rice and the tricycle were recovered to the police station. The suspect also confessed to the crime and as at the time of this report, effort is ongoing to apprehend the fleeing rider while the suspect will be charged to court.
