Buhari graces Akande’s book launch in Lagos as Victoria Island on lockdown

On Thursday, President Muhammadu Buhari will travel to Lagos State for the book launch and presentation of Chief Bisi Akande, the former APC interim chairman.
“My Participations,” as far as we can tell, is the title of the book.
Mr Tunde Rahman, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu’s spokesman, announced on Wednesday that the President would be the Special Guest of Honour, Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu would be the Chief Host, and Tinubu would be the Guest of Honour.
The event, which will take place at the Eko Hotel and Suites on Victoria Island, would certainly cause traffic congestion in the surrounding areas due to road closures in anticipation of Buhari’s arrival and exit.

Furthermore, according to a statement released by the Lagos State Ministry of Transportation on Wednesday, traffic on Ahmadu Bello Way would be diverted from Adeola Odeku Intersection inwards Adetokunbo Ademola Roundabout (Eko Hotel) from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 9, 2021.
Dr. Frederic Oladeinde, Commissioner of Transportation, indicated that the route will be temporarily closed to motorists, but that alternate routes had been drawn out to assist traffic flow within and around the designated route.
Motorists will be routed to Adeola Odeku through Akin Adesola, as well as Oyin Jolayemi, Oko Awo, and Sanusi Fafunwa, he said, because Akin Adesola, which connects Ahmadu Bello Way to IBM, would be blocked to vehicle traffic.
“Alternatively, vehicles will be able to connect their destinations by using Ozumba Mbadiwe, while traffic from Ozumba Mbadiwe inbound Adetokunbo Ademola will be diverted to Ajose Adeogun, Sanusi Fafunwa, or redirected back to the Civic Events Centre axis to continue their journey,” he said.

All feeder roads heading to Ahmadu Bello Way from Adeola Odeku intersection, as well as those leading to Eko Hotel from Adetokunbo Ademola Roundabout, would be temporarily blocked to traffic beginning at 5:00 a.m. on the specified date, according to the Commissioner.
He told drivers that signs will be placed along the roadways to direct traffic.
