President Muhammadu Buhari has signed the electoral amendment act bill into law.
The president signed the bill at the federal executive council (FEC) chamber in the presidential villa in Abuja on Friday afternoon.
Dignitaries present during the signing ceremony are vice President Yemi Osibanjo, Senate President Ahmad Lawan, Femi Gbajabiamila, speaker of the house of representatives, and Kayode Fayemi, chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum.
This is coming barely a week to the expiration of the window the President has to take a decision on the bill, as stipulated in the Nigerian Constitution.
