Artisan from Ogun stabs hotel guest to death, blames devil
2 min readToheeb Akanji, a 32-year-old fridge and air conditioner technician, was arrested by men from the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly stabbing a 42-year-old man, Damilare Oladipupo, to death.
The suspect, who goes by the moniker T Cash, is accused of luring the victim out of a hotel and stabbing him to death.
DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the state Police Public Relations Officer, revealed this in a statement on Sunday.

According to Oyeyemi, the suspect was apprehended after a distress call from one Oluomo was received at the Agbado divisional headquarters around 12.30 a.m.
He went on to say that Oladipupo, also known as No Story, was stabbed to death by an unknown person at the Blue Roof Hotel in Adiyan Gasline, in the Ifo Local Government Area of the state, where he had come to celebrate with the hotel owner.
“Upon receiving the distress call, CSP Kehinde Kuranga, DPO, Agbado division, quickly mobilized his men and moved to the scene,” the PPRO said.
“When they arrived, they discovered the deceased had been lured out of the hotel and stabbed multiple times in the chest, hand, and face.
“It was also discovered that he struggled with his assailant, prompting him to seize the suspect’s cardigan as well as the knife with which he stabbed him.”
“The deceased was rushed to the hospital, where a doctor confirmed his death.”
“When the Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole, was informed, he immediately ordered that the suspect be hunted down and brought to justice within 24 hours.”
“On the CP’s orders, the DPO and his men launched an intelligence-based investigation, and the suspect was apprehended around 5 p.m. on Saturday, December 25, 2021.
“During questioning, the suspect admitted to killing the victim but blamed it on the devil’s handiwork.

“He claimed he went to the hotel to find out who had beaten and injured one of his boys, but when he arrived, the deceased accosted him and began fighting with him.”
“That’s when he pulled out the knife he’d brought with him and stabbed him.”
According to Oyeyemi, the state police commissioner has ordered that the suspect be immediately transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department’s Homicide Section for further investigation and prosecution.
