The operation reportedly led to the recovery of a firearm described by the police as a double-barrelled pump-action gun, a laptop, six mobile phones, a camouflage cap and a jacket.
A further search of the suspects’ residence also led to the recovery of five rounds of live ammunition, the police said, adding that investigations into the case were ongoing.
The Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Samuel E. Erale, commended the operatives for their efforts and reiterated the command’s commitment to dismantling criminal networks and curbing the illegal circulation of firearms.
He warned suspected criminal elements to abandon unlawful activities or face decisive action within the ambit of the law, while urging residents to provide the police with credible and timely information to support crime prevention and detection.
