The Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Samuel Etaifo Erale, has commenced a familiarisation tour of police formations and engagements with key stakeholders, reaffirming his commitment to human rights protection, intelligence-led policing and professional conduct among officers.

The tour, which followed his assumption of duty as the 25th Commissioner of Police in Delta State, included a courtesy visit to the Asagba of Asaba, His Royal Majesty, Obi (Prof.) Epiphany Chigbogu Azinge, SAN, OON, and an inspection visit to the Asaba Area Command.

During his visit to the traditional ruler, the police commissioner discussed security concerns, including cultism, drug abuse and land disputes, emphasising the need for collaboration between the police, traditional institutions and residents to address criminal activities and maintain peace.

CP Erale also visited the Asaba Area Command, where he interacted with officers and men, stressing the importance of discipline, accountability and adherence to professional policing standards in the discharge of their duties.

The commissioner underscored the critical role of credible and timely information in intelligence gathering and crime prevention, urging residents to report suspicious activities to the police to help prevent crime and strengthen security across the state.

He assured members of the public that information received would be properly assessed and acted upon, while warning against deliberately providing false or malicious information intended to implicate innocent persons.
