Delta Police, NPF Trust Fund Empower 100 Officers’ Wives With Vocational Skills, Starter Kits

The Nigeria Police Force Trust Fund (NPFTF), in collaboration with the Delta State Police Command, has empowered 100 wives of junior police officers with vocational skills and starter kits to promote self-reliance and improve the welfare of police families.
The four-day training programme, which ended in Asaba on Thursday, focused on tailoring and hairdressing. A total of 79 beneficiaries received training in tailoring, while 21 were trained in hairdressing. At the end of the programme, each participant was presented with a starter kit in her chosen trade to enable her establish a business and generate sustainable income.
Representing the Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, at the closing ceremony, the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, praised the participants for their dedication throughout the training.

He urged them to make productive use of the skills acquired by building successful businesses and contributing to the economic wellbeing of their families. Adejobi also encouraged the women to continue supporting and praying for their husbands as they carry out the demanding task of safeguarding lives and property.
Speaking at the event, the Team Lead of the Nigeria Police Force Trust Fund, Mr. Charles Omorogiuwa, described the initiative as part of the Trust Fund’s commitment to improving the welfare of police families through sustainable empowerment programmes.
He explained that the programme was implemented under the leadership of the Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Police Force Trust Fund, Mr. Mohammed Sheidu, and urged the beneficiaries to take full advantage of the opportunity by establishing themselves in their chosen vocations.
Also addressing the participants, the President of the Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA), Delta State Chapter, Mrs. Rosemary Adejo, commended the Nigeria Police Force Trust Fund for the initiative and encouraged the beneficiaries to remain committed to the skills they had acquired.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, lauded the Nigeria Police Force Trust Fund for its continued investment in the welfare of police families, noting that empowering officers’ spouses strengthens family stability, boosts personnel morale and complements the Nigeria Police Force’s broader welfare initiatives.
