LAGOS – What started as a modest educational initiative with only 18 pupils and six teachers in a wing of a duplex in Omole Phase 1, Lagos, has blossomed into one of Nigeria’s most respected private educational institutions.
Today, Mind Builders School stands as a testament to the vision, resilience and commitment of its founder, Mrs. Bolajoko Falore, whose 70th birthday and golden jubilee in the teaching profession are set to be celebrated with a maiden annual symposium organised by the Trustees of Mind Builders Education Trust.
The symposium, scheduled to hold on June 20, 2026, at the Mind Builders School Hall in Ikeja Central Business District, Alausa, Lagos, is expected to attract notable personalities from academia, government, business and the education sector to honour a woman widely recognised for her contributions to educational development and nation-building.
The event will feature the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc, Mr. Oliver Alawuba, as keynote speaker, while former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Professor Idowu Olayinka, will serve as guest speaker.
For many stakeholders in the education sector, the remarkable growth of Mind Builders School remains one of the clearest reflections of Mrs. Falore’s dedication to educational excellence and her unwavering belief in empowering future generations through quality learning.
Founded in 1998 under the guiding philosophy of “Building Your Child for Tomorrow’s Challenges,” the institution has evolved from its humble beginnings into a multi-campus educational enterprise known for academic excellence, leadership development, innovation and character formation.
The school currently caters to about 450 students and is supported by a workforce of 128 teaching and non-teaching staff. Over the years, it has developed into a modern educational institution with 48 classrooms and more than 15 specialised learning centres designed to provide comprehensive and practical learning experiences.
Its facilities include well-equipped Physics, Chemistry and Biology laboratories, Basic Science and Technology laboratories, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) centres, a Language Room, Mathematics Clinic, Introductory Technology Laboratory, Art Studio, Music Room, Home Economics facilities and other modern educational resources aimed at nurturing well-rounded learners.
In a move that underscores her commitment to strengthening the teaching profession, Mrs. Falore also incorporated 12 dedicated rooms within the school complex for the future establishment of a Teachers’ Training School. The initiative is expected to provide professional development opportunities for educators while promoting higher teaching standards across the broader educational community.
The school’s physical expansion has also been significant. Beyond its main campus, Mind Builders School operates an annex campus in Omole Phase 2 and modern early childhood learning facilities. It also boasts a sports complex situated on a 9,000-square-metre property, featuring facilities for football, basketball, volleyball, badminton, lawn tennis and swimming, alongside a developing mini-stadium project.
Education stakeholders say one of the strongest indicators of the school’s success is the accomplishments of its alumni.
Through sustained investments in quality teaching, continuous staff development, favourable teacher-to-student ratios and international exposure programmes, the institution has produced graduates who have excelled in various professional fields both within and outside Nigeria.
Between 1999 and 2015, Mrs. Falore sponsored educational exchange and learning visits for teachers and administrators to leading schools in South Africa and the United Kingdom. These programmes enabled staff members to acquire global best practices in educational delivery, leadership and school management.

The impact of those investments has continued to reflect in the institution’s academic performance and reputation as a centre for excellence and leadership development.
Several alumni of the school have graduated with first-class honours from prestigious universities in Nigeria, Europe and North America. In addition, many former staff members have gone on to establish and successfully manage schools in Nigeria, Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States.
Observers describe this growing network of educational leaders as evidence of the enduring influence of the values, standards and professional culture cultivated within Mind Builders School.
Beyond academics, the institution has also maintained a strong commitment to social responsibility and community development.
Driven by Mrs. Falore’s belief that quality education should be accessible to all regardless of social status, the school has supported scholarship programmes for indigent students, provided educational opportunities for vulnerable children and contributed to public school development through infrastructure support and community-focused interventions.
Mind Builders School has equally played a significant role in educational advocacy and policy development through Mrs. Falore’s active participation in major professional bodies.
She has held leadership positions in the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS), the Association of Private Educators in Nigeria (APEN) and the World Organization for Early Childhood Education (OMEP), helping to shape conversations around educational reforms and standards in Nigeria.
As preparations intensify for the June 20 symposium, stakeholders say the institution itself remains the most enduring tribute to Mrs. Falore’s legacy.
The event is expected to feature discussions on educational excellence, leadership, innovation and sustainability—principles that have defined both Mrs. Falore’s five-decade career and the growth of Mind Builders School.
It will also provide a platform for educators, policymakers, parents and development partners to examine how visionary leadership can transform educational institutions into drivers of national development and social progress.
After nearly three decades of institutional growth and 50 years of service in the education sector, Mind Builders School continues to stand as a model of excellence, innovation and transformational leadership.
As Nigeria celebrates the milestone achievements of Mrs. Bolajoko Falore at 70 and her golden jubilee in education, many believe the success story of Mind Builders School remains one of the strongest examples of how commitment, consistency and a clear vision can shape generations, nurture leaders and contribute meaningfully to national development.
