The UK has reported 633 new Omicron cases, the highest daily increase since the COVID-19 strain was discovered, bringing the total number of cases to 1,898.
“The latest data came as experts warn Omicron could cause between 25,000 and 75,000 deaths in England by the end of April if no additional measures are taken,” the British health authorities said.

According to the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA), if Omicron continues to spread at its current rate, it will become the dominant strain by mid-December, accounting for more than half of all COVID-19 infections in the country.
It’s also expected that by the end of this month, Britain will have surpassed 1 million Omicron infections if current trends continue.
According to official numbers issued on Saturday, Britain has 54,073 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of coronavirus cases in the country to 10,771,444.
A total of 132 people died as a result of the coronavirus in the country. There have been 146,387 coronavirus-related deaths in the United Kingdom, with 7,413 COVID-19 victims still in hospitals.

According to the latest numbers, more than 89 percent of people aged 12 and up in the United Kingdom have received their first dose of vaccine, and more than 81 percent have received both doses.
Booster shots, or the third dosage of a coronavirus vaccination, have been given to more than 39% of people.
