Dr. Uzu Onyemaechi Robert

In the series of total wellness with Dr. Onyemaechi Roberts Uzu, the MD/CEO of Ruzu Herbal Products and Services Ltd., he will be enlightening the public on various health challenges and proffered solutions to prevent and manage illnesses.

In module three of today’s tips, Dr. Uzu highlighted new strategies for prevention and natural therapeutic approaches for cancer patients, saying,

“The prostate gland is a walnut-sized gland in the male reproductive system where most of the semen that carries sperm is produced. Its main function is to produce fluid (prostatic fluid) that forms part of the semen. This fluid contains enzymes (prostate-specific antigen, also known as PSA), proteins, and minerals such as zinc and citric acid that help to protect and nourish sperm.

“The sperm are produced in the testes. It also plays a role in hormone production and supports the regulation of urine flow.

The prostate gland is located beneath the bladder and surrounds the upper urethra, the tube that transports urine from the bladder.”

“The most common health issues of the prostate are an inflamed prostate, prostate enlargement, and prostate cancer.”

“Inflamed prostate (prostatitis) is a condition of the prostate gland linked with swelling and irritation. It can result in painful urination and pain in the pelvic and genital area.”

“Bacterial infections may as well cause this swelling and irritation.”

“Prostate enlargement, also known as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), is a condition where the prostate gland has grown more than the actual healthy size of the prostate gland. The fact that it is enlarged does not signify that it is cancerous.”

“Prostate cancer is a cancer growing in the prostate gland. It is the most common type of cancer that affects men and the second leading cause of death in men.”

“Any man above 40 years is at risk of developing any of these prostate problems. Moreover, a family history of prostate issues, being a Black man, and unhealthy lifestyle choices such as excessive consumption of processed and junk foods, alcohol intake, smoking, lack of physical activity, and obesity are all risk factors for developing prostate issues.

“The wearing of tight pants might not directly cause prostate problems like cancer or enlargement, but it can contribute to the worsening of already existing prostate issues. This is because tight pants can obstruct blood flow to the pelvic area, thereby increasing the pressure on the scrotum, testicles, and the prostate gland, and this may cause swelling and irritation.”

“Symptoms may include inability to urinate, incomplete emptying of the bladder, dribbling at the end of urinating, frequent urinating during the day and/or at night, blood in the urine, fatigue, unexplained weight loss, difficulty in starting, maintaining, and stopping urine stream, etc.”

“Prostate tests are the most ideal procedure to assess the status of the prostate gland, like the Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) test. This test measures the level of PSA in the blood and screens for prostate cancer. Other tests include digital rectal exam (DRE) for detection of prostate cancer and symptoms, transrectal ultrasound (TRUS) test used to guide biopsy, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for prostate cancer screening and diagnosis, urine tests for possible infection, and cystoscopy to visualize the urethra and the bladder functionalities.

“Natural remedies include not just maintaining a balanced diet but also having an eating plan. Engage in water therapy. Take a full glass cup of water first thing in the morning and last before retiring to bed. Quit smoking and drinking alcohol, and drastically reduce consuming processed or refined foods and excess fats, including suya, shawarma, caffeine, soft drinks, milk, and ice cream.”

“Regulate your food intake. 8:00 AM should always be 8:00 AM, and 7:00 PM should always be 7:00 PM.”

“Eat foods and drinks (diuretics) that increase your urine flow, such as citrus fruits (sweet orange, lemon orange, lime orange, and grapefruit), cucumber, and watermelon, and vegetables like scent leaves, water leaf, asparagus, ugwu, and bitter leaf. Drinking plenty of water is the most effective way to increase your urine flow.”

“A combination of lemon, orange, grapefruit, bitter leaf, scent leaves, and Xylopia aethiopica (African black pepper in English, Uda in Igbo) is very effective in the treatment of enlarged prostate as well as prostate cancer.”

“Herbal products like RUZU Prosta-Care, Ruzu Herbal Bitters, Ruzu Infex, Ruzu Herbal Tea, and Immuno Active are very effective in the treatment of prostate inflammation, prostate enlargement, and prostate cancer.”
