Ilana Omo Oodua, a Yoruba group, has slammed Sunday Adeyemo a.k.a. Igboho for his letter to President Muhammadu Buhari.

Olajengbesi does not speak for Igboho and is not involved in the Yoruba Nation’s self-determination struggle, according to a statement issued by Maxwell Adeleye on Sunday.

The work for which he was “hired and paid” ended on July 1, 2021, when he defended Igboho’s aides and relatives who were arrested by the Department of State Services (DSS) in Ibadan, Oyo State.

“Anything Olajengbesi says after that should be taken as his personal opinion, not Ighoho’s.” He is supposed to speak to the public on our behalf as our lawyer,” he said.

According to Adeleye, the lawyer stated in an interview that he is not interested in the Yoruba Nation agitation because he believes in one Nigeria.

Olajengbesi stated that his only interest was to defend oppressed people who had been humiliated by the Nigerian government, “which he has meritoriously executed for us,” according to him.

“We are surprised that Olajengbesi wrote a New Year’s message on behalf of Ighoho to President Muhammad Buhari, lobbied the Nigerian government indirectly, and attempted to portray a surrendered Ighoho.”

“We want to state very clearly that the so-called new year message is Pelumi Olajengbesi’s personal opinion and not Chief Ighoho’s position,” the statement continued.
