Six Nigerians detained in Libya on Drug Trafficking Charges

Following the discovery of large amounts of cocaine meant for distribution, Libyan authorities detained six Nigerians in Tripoli on suspicion of drug trafficking.
Libya’s Stability Support Agency’s Department of Investigation made the arrest and turned over the drugs to Libyan authorities for additional analysis.

A statement from the charity group Migrant Rescue Watch revealed their detention.
For judicial proceedings, the suspects—five women and one man—have been referred to public prosecution.

Six migrants, one male and five female, of Nigerian nationality were detained by the Department of Investigation’s Stability Support Agency after they broke up a drug trafficking group in Tripoli. The defendants were discovered in possession of copious amounts of cocaine that were prepared for distribution. The statement said, “Public prosecution is referred to all for legal action.”
This incident follows two Nigerians who were detained on drug trafficking-related accusations by Libyan authorities in Sabha and Bani Walid in November.
Among other illegal substances, 1,200 hallucinogenic pills were discovered with them.
