“DPO Nasko promptly gathered police officers with vigilante members and engaged the robbers in a ferocious gun battle, in which some of the hoodlums were neutralized and others escaped with gunshot injuries. Unfortunately, the DPO, two other police officers, and four vigilantes were killed in the gunfight.”
The Area Commander, Kotangora, has dispatched military forces to the area in order to prevent a breakdown of law and order.
He also stated that, the State Police Command expressed condolences to the families of the policemen and vigilantes killed in the tragic incident, while assuring the public that the command will not be deterred or desist in its efforts to combat banditry in the state.
