Three traditional worshippers were abducted and whisked into the forest by suspected kidnappers on Monday after going to a river along the Benin-Abraka road for rituals.

The incident occurred on Monday, July 25, 2022, at approximately 1pm, according to a statement issued by the Command’s Deputy Public Relations Officer, ASP Jennifer Iwegbu, on Tuesday.

“The Command received a complaint that hoodlums suspected to be kidnappers accosted and whisked into the bush three traditional worshippers who had gone to a river along the Benin-Abraka road for prayers,” the statement said.

When [the] Divisional Police Officer Ugo received the information, he immediately dispatched his operatives to the scene to pursue the hoodlums and possibly rescue the victims.
