Operatives of the Kaduna State Police Command, led by a Divisional Police Officer, have arrested a suspected kidnapper at the Easyway Hotel in Tafa town, Kagarko Local Government Area of the state.

Police Public Relations Officer ASP Mansir Hassan, who made this known in a statement on Thursday, said that the arrest followed credible information received by the Divisional Headquarters about the activities of some suspects in the said hotel.

According to Hassan, the suspect, Bello Muhammad, offered a million-naira bribe to the DPO to stop further investigation into his activities.

The DPO, however, rejected the offer and arrested the 28-year-old suspect, who hails from Zamfara State.

The statement added that N2,350,000, suspected to be the proceeds of kidnapping, was recovered.

“Moreover, a check of his mobile phone corroborated the suspect’s confession as pictures of him brandishing an AK47 rifle in a forest were retrieved.
