PDP: I’m not aware of my alleged suspension – Odeyemi, Fmr Deputy Publicity Secretary
2 min readDiran Odeyemi, a former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has stated that he is unaware of any information about his alleged suspension for anti-party activities in his ward in Osun State’s Obokun Local Government Area.
D-Roy, as he is known, insisted in a phone conversation on Sunday that he was not aware of any information to that effect.
Odeyemi, who maintains that he did nothing to merit a suspension, said he was surprised to see the announcement on social media and that no official letter to back up the suspension has been received since then.

While urging a thorough investigation into the source of the announcement, he insisted that the person or group responsible for the suspension be identified.
Odeyemi claimed in a letter to the PDP National Chairman that the new South West National Vice Chairman, Olasoji Adagunodo’s intervention in the state’s PDP affairs by appointing his crony, Wale Ojo, as acting state chairman was appalling and condemnable.
According to the former Deputy PDP spokesperson, the party’s South West National Vice Chairman’s recent action undermines the peace and reconciliation process and stifles the team spirit needed to win governorship elections in both Ekiti and Osun States.
He called on the National Working Committee to summon Adagunodo and order him to withdraw all his case files from various courts, accusing him of not caring about the party in the state.
Odeyemi also asked the National Working Committee to reaffirm Sunday Bisi as the party’s authentic Chairman in Osun State, as ratified by the NEC at the party’s most recent National Convention, and to confirm Osogbo as the only PDP state secretariat in the state.
Owoeye Adelani, the PDP chairman in Obokun, has responded by saying that the news of the alleged suspension is an anomaly.

“Prince Diran Odeyemi is our true representative from Obokun, and Adagunodo Soji is our man,” he explained. They are all accountable to the state and to Nigeria as a whole.
“As I speak, Prince Diran Odeyemi is a member of the Obokun PDP, and he is not suspended or expelled.”
