Former deputy president of the Nigerian Senate, Ike Ekweremadu, may have been in detention in London since June last year but this has not stopped his emoluments and allowances, The Africa Report can confirm.

Ekweremadu, who was convicted in London for conspiracy to commit organ trafficking, has been receiving his monthly salary, allowance and imprest of N14.2m (about $30,800) from the Nigerian Senate since June, The Africa Report can confirm.So far, he has collected 12 months of salary and allowances which amounts to N170.4m (nearly $370,000).
