Ministry of Health, Society Committee Against COVID-19 signed MoU

During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in Nigeria, the Federal Ministry of Health and the Society Committee Against COVID-19 (SOSOCOVID) signed a Memorandum of Understanding to document the activities of government, non-governmental, private, and other organizations.

Mr Okechukwu Okwudili, the Ministry’s representative, said that the Nigerian government, partners, and other relevant stakeholders played critical roles in halting the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country while signing the MoU.

He praised the Ministry’s and SOSOCOVID’s decision to publish a book documenting all of the efforts as a positive step forward and for posterity’s sake.
Okwudili went on to say that the book had been in the works for months before the MoU was signed.
Mr Kenneth Ibe-Kalu, the Director of SOSOCOVID, stated that the book ” COVID-19 The Nigerian Story” is for Nigerians, the rest of the world, and the younger generation.
“The book will include profiles of Mr. President, Governors, Presidential Task Forces, State Task Forces, the Minister of the Federal Ministry of Health, State Governments, Nigerian Center for Disease Control (NCDC), Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAS), Private Sector Organizations, Civil Society Organizations, Political Leaders, Faith-Based Organizations, Local and International NGOs, Private Individuals, and the Nigerian Center for Disease Control (NCDC), Private Sector Organizations, Civil Society Organizations, Political Leaders

Mr Kalu stated that the plot of the book would honor those who devised strategies, those who risked their lives on the front lines, and others who provided a service or an order.
He thanked the ministry for all of its help in getting the book published.
