Marwa’s first wife will be buried in Imo on January 29

On the 29th of January, the remains of Chief Mrs. Salome Zainab Marwa (Nee Agbaso), Igolo Oha 1, first wife of Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (retd), Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, will be laid to rest in Emekuku, Owerri North Local Government Area, Imo State.

Mrs. Marwa, a former First Lady of Borno State, died in Abuja on Saturday, January 8, at the age of 66, following an unexpected heart attack.

Her internment will be preceded by a Requiem Mass in her honor at Our Lady Queen of Nigeria Pro Cathedral in Abuja on Wednesday, January 26th, 2022, before her final journey to her hometown, according to a burial announcement signed by Ochoudo Martin Agbaso (MFR) for the family.

Salome Zainab Marwa, late Chief (Mrs.) Salome Zainab Marwa, was born to Nathaniel and Anna Charity Agbaso in Emekuku, Owerri North LGA, Imo State.

Her siblings included Chief Martin Agbaso (Ochoudo), His Excellency Jude Agbaso, former Deputy Governor of Imo State, Jovita, the owner of the popular Jevnik restaurant chain, and others. Her mother hasn’t died yet.

Abubakar, a businessman and entrepreneur, Mohammed (a Senior Military Officer), Mariam, and Zainab, her four adult children, were her pride and joy (Special Assistant to the FCT Minister). She was also a devoted grandmother to ten children.

Mrs. Marwa spoke to her younger brother, Chief Agbaso, at 2.45 p.m. on Friday before passing away at 12.47 a.m. on Saturday, January 8, in Abuja, following an unexpected heart attack.

She was passionate about improving the lives of women and girls as the First Lady of Borno State. She continued her passion after work as a businesswoman, focusing on religious work in particular.
