In Iwo, Osun State, on Wednesday, members of a religious vigilante group with a human head detained a man by the name of Afolabi Jacob.
During a routine security patrol in the early hours of Wednesday around the Yemoja area of the town, Afolabi was detained by Taawun Security, Al-Jayshu Islam.
According to a report from Jamaatu Taawunil Muslimeen, Afolabi Jacob admitted that the human head that was discovered on him was intended to be sold to one of his colleagues.
In addition, Jamaatu Taawunil Muslimeen disclosed that eight members of Afolabiâs group were detained and delivered to the Osun State Police Command, Osogbo, during a security search.

The vigilante group claimed that the suspects had admitted to committing numerous human sacrifices and that they were not first-time offenders.
The arrests have been confirmed by the Osun State Police Command in the interim.
The Command spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola, revealed that the suspects have been handed over to the state Police Command in a conversation with this reporter.
She said that the Anti-kidnapping unit of the Command had been briefed on the situation and had started an investigation.
