In Ebonyi, gunmen assassinate Ebubeagu operative Orogbo, set his body ablaze
1 min readOn Sunday, the Ebonyi Police Command confirmed the death of an Ebubeagu Security Network member (ESN).
The assailants murdered and partially burned the victim, Ifeanyi Orogbo, 32.
The incident happened on Saturday night in Igweledeoha, Amagu, in the Ikwo Local Government Area, according to DSP Loveth Odah of the Ebonyi Command.

According to her, the DPO of the Ikwo Police Division received a phone call from a source at Igweledeoha reporting that one ESN operative had been murdered.
“In his beer parlour shop on Agubia Road, he was partially burned by unknown persons.
“The DPO said he quickly dispatched a team of police officers to the scene, but the criminals had fled by the time they arrived.
The body was taken to the General Hospital for preservation and autopsy, according to the police spokesperson.

According to Odah, two people have been arrested in connection with the crime.
Mr Garba Aliyu, the Commissioner of Police, has expressed his displeasure with the killing and promised to bring the perpetrators to justice, she said.
