Igbo Speaking Community, Council Of Ndi Eze Ndigbo Confers AIG Ari Mohammed, Prince Olasunkanmi With Honorary Chieftaincy Title in Lagos.

The Igbo Speaking Community in conjunction with Council of Ndieze Ndigbo in Lagos Confers honorary Chieftaincy titles on two significant personalities namely: AIG Ari Mohammed Ali, presiding police officer of the Zone 2 Command and Prince Idowu Olasukanmi “Omo Oba” of Ijegun palace for their different contribution in engaging fairly with the affairs of the igbos without tribalistic motives but fairness and equity.

The conferment was actualized on November 5th, 2023 at the palatial premises of Eze Dr Chika Nwokedi the Ezendigbo of Ijegun Ijeododo. The attendees includes: The cabinet chiefs of “Obi Eziokwu” palace, Chief Sunday Udeh the President General of Igbo Speaking Community, Eze Sunday Ojukwu Ezeudo, Ezendigbo Amuwo Odofin, Members council of Ndieze in Lagos, Ezendigbo Ibeju Lekki, Obi Udo of Ijegun Ijeododo, CSO of Tradefair High Chief Chuka Christian Mekaowulu, Representative of AIG Ari Mohammed Ali, Executives of Igbo speaking community, Prince Olusukanmi Idowu, wife and cabinet chiefs of Ijegun palace, friends, well wishers of Prince Idowu and others….

According to tradition, Eze Chika Nwokedi who orchestrated the occasion commenced the event with a warm welcome of guest, proceeded to the breaking of colanut, conferment of titles to AIG Ari and Prince Idowu, presentation of certificates, awards and other programmes to commemorate the recognition ceremony.

Speaking with PG Igbo speaking community Lagos Chief Sunday, he revealed that the significant reason for the recognition of the AIG and Prince Idowu is to promote love and unity amongst tribes. Says both dignitaries honoured are deserving individuals as this will bring about unity and cooperation among the indigenes and non indigenes.

Chief Sunday Udeh commended AIG Ali Mohammed, affirmed his status quo in work ethics, says he has worked tirelessly in yoruba land including the south west before he became Assistant Inspector General of Police. In acknowledgement of the kingly prowess of Eze CC Nwokedi, Chief Sunday describes him as a man of timber and caliber in reference of his selfless service to the community he presides, other communities in Lagos and eastern states.

The representative of AIG Ari Mohammed Ali, Chijioke told the press during an interview that the honorary title conferred is as a result of the AIGs excellent services and impactful work ethics performed in areas of his primarily assigned jurisdiction in the different states of the federation. As a notable senior officer of the Nigeria Police, AIG Ari Mohammed was described by Chijioke as a thorough bred worthy of emulation, hence the honours conferred is deserving in reference to his non tribalistic approach to matters of tribal conflicts . The AIGs new title accorded him by the Igbo speaking Community namely ” Agu N’Echu Mba Ndigbo” is a reflection of an achievement in competence and character.

Prince Olasukanmi Idowu “Omo Oba” Ijegun who was conferred with the chieftaincy title “Nwanne Di Na Mba 1” along sides wife expresses profound gratitude for being honored in recognition of his work and non tribalistic approach in handing affairs of the Ijegun people despite the different tribal occupants under his father’s reign. Says he sees the igbos as one family in unity, reveals efforts made so far in keeping peace amongst the tribes irrespective of the affiliations. Noted that the title will further spur him into a rightful approach in guidance to make the right decisions in the community despite prevailing circumstances. Appreciates the Igbo speaking organisers for their thoughtfulness in finding him worthy to be accorded a priceless honour.

CEO Segun Autos a friend of Prince Olasunkanmi describes Omo Oba as a good man deserving of the honorary Chieftaincy title. Segun mentioned the distinctive attributes of the prince, says he is totally against the act of land grabbing, resolves conflicts without sentiments, he’s accommodating with non tribe and so on, advises him to keep up the good work.He also commended Eze Chika for wisdom in incorporating the act of unity amongst the people irrespective of tribe or background.

Pst. Mrs Tessy Chika Nwokedi during a press interview describes the host Eze Chika Nwokedi as a non tribalistic man who sees the Yorubas, Igbos and Hausas as brother and friend. Says this line of thoughts had further spuned the creation of the honorary title in appreciation to the true definers of peace and unity, non Igbo individuals recognized for the impactful paths taken towards maintaining peace and unity amongst the tribes. Commends Eze Chika for standing by the right decisions irrespective of tribe and against any form of sentiments, says he is a generous man, self sacrificial, loves to help people even when he barely has enough, prays for God’s continuous blessings upon his life.

Speaking with the host Eze Chika Nwokedi, he said the AIG has been awarded the best AIG so far due to his exceptional performances as Commissioner of Police in Delta state before assuming the office of AIG Zone 2 Command in Lagos. Says their relation began far back when the now AIG was DPO in Apapa. He said in old and recent times, the values of the AIG remains same, he loves all tribes and respects them equally. As regards the second title holder Prince Olusukanmi Idowu, Eze Chika said the price has shown through different antecedents the power of unity in his non sentimental approach to matters of conflicts in Ijegun which has earned him accolades from the igbos. Sends a message to the public through the medium of the press for all to live as one, encourages people to treat each other with love and respect irrespective of tribe.

In magnanimity, Eze Chika said it saddens him to see others hungry hence a reason he freely gives at all times. Reveals the honorary Chieftaincy title awarded is not to raise funds neither was any of the recipients tasked financially for the conferment but was given based by merit and will remain so. Also officially announced date for the widows gathering to express his usual Philanthropic commitment to bless them monetarily and materially.

Hon. High Chief Prosper Chukwuka appraised the AIG, says he is a man of dignity who has worked excellently in Lagos for years, he is deserving of the Igbo title. Also commended Eze Chika for doing his best to promote unity and togetherness.
