Human rights advocate calls on senior statesmen, clerics to discuss the nation’s situation with President Tinubu

Comrade Prince Saviour Iche, a human rights advocate, is urging elder statesmen and clerics to speak with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu about the ongoing issue of hardship caused by his administration.
Former President Ibrahim Babangida, Yakubu Gowon, Abdulsalam Abubakar, Olusegun Obasanjo, Chief Olusegun Osoba, Gen. Alani Ipoola Akinrinde, Edwin Clark, Pa Adebanjo, Emeka Anyaoku, and other notable Christian clerics, such as Pst. Enoch Adeboye, Pastor William Kumuyi, Pastor Tunde Bakare, Pst. Paul Adefarasin, Pst. Matthew Ashimolowo Primate Ayodele, Pastor Daniel Kayode Olukoya, and Bishop Mike Okonkwo. Muslim clerics such as Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, Sultan Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar IV, the Sultan of Sokoto, Ibrahim Saleh Al-Husaini, Sheikh Nasir Muhammad Umar Kabara, and others, ought to gather in their large numbers to demand that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu take action on the state of the nation.
According to Comrade Iche, the priests and elder statesmen indicated above possess the qualifications to urge the president to implement a reform. He claims that notable heroes who battled for Nigeria’s independence, such as Nnamdi Azikwe, Pa Enahoro, and Obafemi Awolowo, will be rolling in their graves with dismay at the country’s retrograde state.
He added: “For President Tinubu, winning the presidency has been a lifelong goal, and he has done so. It’s time for him to show Nigerians that he can stay in office by implementing practical economic reforms that would benefit Nigerians, not politicians.
“Politicians are appointed to serve judiciously and should not see their appointments as birthright but an assignment that must be conclusive with positive results of attestation and commendation.”
“Even Angel Gabriel cannot save Nigeria,” declared Emeka Anyaoku in a recent interview about the country’s situation. Should such comment be utterable by an elder statesman? This merely demonstrates the insensitivity of our leaders and the dire state of affairs lack the country.
“The third year of President Tinubu’s administration is quickly approaching, but the economy has not improved; instead, Nigerians are experiencing greater suffering and anguish; families are unable to adequately feed and clothe themselves as a result of the economic slump.
It is time for all clerics and elder statesmen to come together and hold a national dialogue to solve these issues with the president, voicing their disapproval. In addition, they can provide workable solutions in the event that our president is at a loss for ideas on how to advance the country, Iche added.
