A Facebook user named Adeola Nwakanma narrated her experience on how she and her baby was almost kidnapped by a Bolt driver. She was smart enough to take into considerations those things people should look out for as well as experiences shared by some other victims when a bolt ride is booked.
Here’s what she said:
I would have been kidnapped with my baby on Thursday by @Boltapp_ng driver if not for the people who have been speaking out about their experience here. I ordered a ride at Ring Road Ibadan, a driver came and I proceeded to check the plate number.
The number does not match with theone on the app, the picture on the app too does not match with his face. I asked him why his plate number does not match, he said he was blocked online, so he’s using his second account.

He said I should enter that I’m safe…
I opened the back door and checked the handles, justto be sure I wasn’t unnecessarily paranoid. The two door handles had been removed. I just stepped back and told him I wasn’t going.
He zoomed off fast and cancelled the order before I could pick my phone to cancel and report. I just stood there in shock.
Please let’s stay safeout there, these stories are for real! I don’t even know why @Boltapp_ng has not been sanctioned or stopped from operating in Nigeria if they can’t do the needful. It’s just sad
She urged Nigerians to be very vigilant when a request is made, taking into note those useful details that could help save a life.
