House Committee On Information Applaud LSPC’s Staff Welfare And Infrastructural Development

Lagos State Printing Corporation (LSPC) hosted the House Committee on Information, Strategy & Security on Tuesday 19th, November, 2024 on a working visit at the Corporation’s head office conference room, Obafemi Awolowo way, Ikeja, Lagos.

The team was led by its Chairman, Hon. Stephen Ogundipe, Hon. Samuel Apata, Chairman, Committee on Public Procurement, Mr. Olumide Sogunle, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information & Strategy, Mrs. Alaja – Brown Oluwatoyin, Secretary to the Committee, Mr. Ibrahim Fagbolade, Assistant Secretary and Mr. Batunde Ogunlana, second Assistant Secretary was part of the delegation.

Hon. Ogundipe commended the Corporation’s management team, led by the General Manager, for their unwavering commitment to creating a conducive working environment for staff and prioritizing their welfare. He said “It is evident that Lagos State Printing Corporation places premium value on its workforce highlighting the Corporation’s dedication to excellence in service delivery, staff welfare, and modernization of its facilities, earning the Corporation the Committee’s commendation as a “Pride to the Committee, the welfare packages and professional development opportunities provided are exemplary and reflect the State’s dedication to human capital development,”

The Committee was particularly impressed by LSPC’s investment in procuring state-of-the-art machines, which have significantly enhanced the Corporation’s operational capacity, the Committee members noted the efficiency and precision of the newly acquired equipment, which have positioned the Corporation as a leader in the printing industry.

Hon. Ogundipe noted that the Corporation’s modernization efforts align with the vision of Lagos State to embrace innovation and technology in its service delivery. He added, “LSPC has demonstrated that public institutions can compete favorably with private enterprises when managed effectively.”

The General Manager LSPC, Hon. Kolawole Peregrino expressed gratitude to the Committee for their visit and recognition of the Corporation’s achievements, he outlined the Corporation’s efforts to maintain global best practices in printing, including the adoption of sustainable and eco-friendly production processes.

In his speech, the GM highlighted how the newly procured machines have reduced turnaround time for projects, improved print quality, and expanded the Corporation’s capacity to handle high-volume and specialized printing tasks. These advancements, he said, have enabled LSPC to better serve Lagos State Ministries, Departments, and Agencies, as well as private sector clients.

The Committee lauded these initiatives and pledged continued support to ensure that the Corporation sustains its momentum. “LSPC is a shining example of good governance in public institutions, and we will work closely with the management to address any challenges they may face,” Hon. Ogundipe assured.

Committee members also engaged in an interactive session with LSPC management staff, during which they listened to their experiences and suggestions for further improvement. The positive feedback from the staff reinforced the Committee’s belief that the Corporation is on the right track.

As part of the visit, the Committee underscored the importance of continuous investment in infrastructure and human capital to maintain the Corporation’s leading position in the printing industry. They encouraged the management to explore new opportunities for revenue generation while adhering to its core mandate.

In conclusion, Hon. Ogundipe reiterated the Committee’s pride in LSPC’s achievements and urged the management to sustain the high standards that have earned them this recognition. “The Lagos State Printing Corporation is not just an institution; it is a model of excellence, and we are proud to be associated with it,” he said.

The visit ended with a group photograph, and a reaffirmation of the Committee’s commitment to supporting the Corporation’s vision and mission.
