Reopening the country’s southern borders, Maharaj Ji said, would help alleviate poverty and hardship.
The Spiritual Leader, speaking to journalists in Ibadan, Oyo State, on Monday ahead of his 74th birthday, said reopening the border would give some Nigerians hope.

Maharaj Ji also stated that the Federal Government was being harmed by the continued closure of the borders.
“Mr. President, open Southern borders for business to begin in earnest to save many souls who have lost hope of not being able to pay for their house rent, shops, feed their families, pay for their children’s school fees, and other hardships being faced as a result of this border closure,” he said.
“For whatever reason, the Police, Customs, Internal Affairs, Immigration, and, of course, the Army are all present to ensure that illegal trafficking, smuggling, and other related border law violations are monitored and controlled.”

“Mr. President, you must understand that Nigerians are law-abiding citizens, and that without a means of subsistence, such as regular food, lodging, shoes, pants, and dresses to wear, no one will be able to walk or think clearly.”
