She works at the University of Jos, and her husband, Professor Sonny Tyoden, is the Deputy Chief of Staff in the Plateau State Deputy Governor’s Office.
“Their residence is in Jos’ Little Rayfield, close to the Government House. The woman was on her way to their house when she was approached by gunmen in front of their gate. They forcibly dragged her from her vehicle and drove her to an unknown location. The incident occurred on Sunday, and we have not seen her since.”
According to a worker at the state Ministry of Health who confirmed the director’s kidnapping, he was on his way home after work when he was kidnapped in the Barkin Ladi community by some hoodlums.
“It was only last night,” he explained (Monday). At Barkin Ladi LGA, the Director has a hospital. After attending to an emergency at his hospital, he was driving back to his home in Barkin Ladi when some people appeared out of nowhere and blocked his vehicle at his gate at the Chairman’s quarters.
“He was still calling his wife to open the gate for him when the hoodlums grabbed him and tossed him into their waiting vehicle.
“They abandoned the director’s vehicle with the doors wide open.” We have no idea what is going on in Plateau State in terms of people’s safety because kidnappings and abductions are at an all-time high. Something must be done, and it must be done quickly, before the situation spirals out of control.”
