In Delta State’s Warri South Local Government Area, a boat overturned on the well-known Bennett Island River, resulting in the verified deaths of five people.
The accident happened on Monday night, according to information obtained on Tuesday.

In a statement released on Tuesday in the state capital of Asaba, SP Bright Edafe, the state police public relations officer, stated that one person remains unaccounted for.
“There was a boat accident along the Bennett Island River in Warri South,” he stated.

Five people were discovered dead, while six others were hurt and are still being treated.
Nineteen people were taken from the scene, but one is still unaccounted for.
