In a display of humanity, forgiveness after several plea by some senior police officers and VIPs, a letter of withdrawal of case was presented by Eze Chika Nwokedi against Chukwudi Samuel before the Ejigbo Magistrate Court on Monday 30th October, 2023 over case of defamation of character.
Subsequently the defendant Samuel Chukwudi a self acclaimed journalist known for defaming uniform personnel, individual to strip them off their various positions through blackmail was apprehended for a defamation case against one Eze Chika Nwokedi. The Igbo traditional ruler who has on different occasions forgiven Samuel’s confrontations, defamation of character and blackmail issues decided to approach the Ejigbo Magistrate court on 24th March, 2023 to stop the defendant from a further harassment and infringement on his private life.
Several reports recounted situations leading to his arrest. The issue which gave rise to this antecedent dated back to 2018, when HRH Chika Nwokedi contested for governorship position in Imo state, during one of his travels from Lagos to the East, he was accosted by NDLEA upon a tip off from Chukwudi Samuel accusing the claimant of being in possession of hard drugs. After a search and investigation he was found innocent of the allegation, cleared of created falsehood and defamation. Chukwudi Samuel also during the years and recently had concocted false stories about the Eze thereby inciting inter tribal unrest between the Oba of Ijegun and the Eze of Ijegun Ijeododo by simply planting hate in the mind of the Oba which had led him to perpetrate some unlikely attitude towards the non tribe in that region.
To this effect, he was remanded in Kirikiri correctional center and released after meeting up with bail conditions but appears in court for the hearing of the claimant’s charge. Meanwhile Chukwudi Samuel had sent several notable personnel to plead with the claimant, Eze Chika Nwokedi to withdraw case with promises of repentance.
After several attempts from Chukwudi Samuel and his well wishers, Eze Chika Nwokedi, the Ezendigbo of Ijegun Ojeododo thereby withdrew and closed case against the defendant.

Meanwhile, during court session, Eze Chika Nwokedi in his magnanimous humane prowess paid a sum of N220,000 for the release of three young ladies which includes a pregnant woman to help free off debts owed to a claimant leading to their remand in Kirikiri correctional center. The act of kindness displayed elicited positive reactions from jurors and audience in the court room. Eze Chika termed his gesture to the ladies as God ordained, says he might have been led to the court just to help save this ones from being incarcerated.
Eze Chika Nwokedi is known for his prominence with philanthropy, the act of forgiveness he portrays, the fight for justice on the down trodden and his earnest servitude to humanity, a virtue he so willingly portrays without much ado.
