As a monthly and yearly routine, the Ndi Igbo Buru’Otu Association of Nigeria celebrates members who are October born during its monthly meeting held at the association’s Secretariat in Ijegun Lagos on Saturday, October 5th, 2024.
The founder of the association, Eze Chika Nwokedi, says the monthly event stems from members commitment to the course of the association, which has resonated into peace and progress. It is an act geared towards giving recognition and accolades to worthy members.
The October born celebrants of the association include: ACP Obiora Okonkwo, Hon. High Chief Mrs Rufina Emedurunwa, Mark Ogu Onyema, Nkiru Ajaegbo, Clifford Igwe, Onuanyim Nduka, and High Chief Dr. Owoh Anthony Ben Ikukuoma. During the monthly meeting, the new office of the president of the Ndi Igbo Buru’Otu Association of Nigeria was commissioned to open for operation at the association’s secretariat.
Hon. High Chief Mrs. Rufina Emedurunwa, on behalf of the October celebrants of the association, expressed gratitude, appreciation, and happiness over the thoughtfulness of the president, Eze Chika Nwokedi, for making it a mandatory effort that members are well celebrated during their special moments, such as birthdays. She noted that the celebration of birthdays in the association does not necessarily happen due to status, as everyone is regarded as one.
ACP Obiora Okonkwo, a member of the association and an October 1st celebrant, uses the medium of the press to preach unity, peace, and progress to Nigerians in commemoration of what the Nigerian Independence at 64 stands for. He added that the celebration of independence day should help the government realize that there is a need to eradicate poverty, which has engulfed the masses, and give access to good roads, constant electricity, cheaper food items, and essential commodities.
