The Ndi Igbo Buru’Otu Association of Nigeria celebrates all eleven August-born in the association in an unusual but unique style on August 2, 2025, at its Secretariat in Ijegun, Lagos State. The flagship event featured the donation of gifts, including trophies and other items, by the celebrants to corroborate with the new norms of the association’s mission.

At the August event, dignitaries from all walks of life who attended attested to Eze Chika Nwokedi’s philanthropic attribute, which also extended to his founded association, ‘The Ndi Igbo Buru’Otu Association of Nigeria.’ Members of the association and guests at the event affirmed Eze Chika’s concept for the association is unique and worth emulating, as it gives rise to dynamism and viable change.

Several senior officers of the Nigeria Police, executives, and members of the Igbo-speaking community, as well as members of the press, honoured the occasion to commemorate with Eze Chika Nwokedi and co-celebrants from his founded association of 10 years.

Speaking with Eze Chika Nwokedi, founder of Ndi Igbo Buru’Otu Association of Nigeria’, Ezendigbo Ijegun Ijeododo, Chairman Council of Ndi Eze Igbo Lagos State, he noted that the month of August is considered a lucky month for him following his special moments including his date of birth on August 4th, he made Lagos his dwelling place August 8, 1992, the month he wedded his lovely wife Ugoeze Pst. MrsTessy Chika Nwokedi on August 25, 2002, the month he was commissioned the chairman of Ladipo on August 14th, he got his first award on August 29th from the Nigeria Police, his first contract with the Nigerian Police was on August 27th and payment was made on the following year on August 7th, August 4, 2023 he dedicated his new house, on August 8, 2023 he commissioned his palace as Ezendigbo Ijegun Ijeododo and the list goes on.

He also revealed that circumstances around his birth and various antecedents show how special he considers the month of his birth. He mentioned that only August celebrants have created an outstanding concept in the association by donating three trophies 🏆 and the other gift items, including 5 pieces of waste baskets, 10 party tables, 196 serving plates, 96 golden spoons, 6 basins, 70 branded caps, 70 pieces of 6-yard cloth (Ankara), and 70 bags of rice in 10 kg, 25 kg, and 50 kg, respectively, in a bid to show love in significance with August-borns. Eze Nwokedi said the trophy 🏆 is meant to be given at the end of the year alongside cash prizes of N150,000, N100,000, and N50,000 to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd winners who will emerge for having the overall best well-celebrated month of the year ‘from their monthly birthday rendezvous in 2025.

Chief Sunday Ude, the President General of the Igbo Speaking Community Lagos, wishes all the celebrants of the association, especially its founder, who’s also an August-born, many more years in good health. According to the chief, Sunday Ude, he described the chief celebrant, Eze Chika Nwokedi, as a charitable monarch, encouraged him to keep up the act of magnanimity for more blessings, and advised him and other celebrants to keep being faithful to God, who has given them life.

Furthermore, Chief Sunday Eze, who also attended the event, described Eze Chika Nwokedi as a good leader and a philanthropist and wished him many more years of greatness and fulfilment.

Ugoeze Pst. (Amb) Tessy Chika Nwokedi, the wife of the founder of the Ndi Igbo Buru’Otu Association of Nigeria’ Eze Chika Nwokedi, affirms her husband is the man of the people who shows people love wherever he goes. She said she wishes Eze Chika Nwokedi a long life, as many destinies are tied to his help and assistance for their fulfilment of purpose; he must be alive to ensure they are catered for, especially the widows and less privileged in the society.

She added that God has enveloped her with the virtue of patience and grace, as is the title of her ministry, ‘Fire, Grace, and Mercy Restoration Ministry,’ to cope with her husband’s many tasking activities, especially his philanthropic nature, which ensures he is used by God to solve the financial issues of many destitute in the society first, for that is his calling and must be regarded. In addition, she expresses gratitude to everyone who sends well wishes to the celebrant, prays for her husband’s longevity, and asks for greater grace, wealth, and wisdom to lead. She also sends her best wishes to all the other August celebrants.

Chief Mrs. Chizoba Charity Okorie, one of the celebrants at the August event, added that August-born are special in character, thinking, lifestyle, selfless service, and uniqueness. She said the “main event,” which showcases their donations, is meant to set a standard and representation to ensure that the organisation attains a new feat. By means of the celebration, she advised Nigerians to break through and imbibe the happy spirit and disallow people from determining one’s happiness despite the economic meltdown challenges plaguing the nation; she said that despite the economic situation, the celebrants donated gifts to members to spread love and happiness.

Eze Chika Nwokedi, on the commemoration of his birthday, encourages forward-thinking Nigerians to hold onto their hope that the country’s economy will improve for everyone as soon as possible. He advocates for love and peace amongst Nigerians devoid of ethnic war and segregation and teaches all to refrain from evil practices, for whatever a man sows, that he shall also reap. He added that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as the president of Nigeria, cannot do it all by himself and urged the president’s cabinet, including the senators of the upper and lower chambers, the ministers, the governors, and all in power as assigned, to assist the president in making well-informed decisions that will advance the country.

At the end of the event, Eze Chika Nwokedi showered co-celebrants with cash; a picture plaque was also presented to all the August-born celebrants as they danced and celebrated one another. The event, as seen, is a way to promote unity as well as showcase the special qualities of those born in August.
