The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday denied reports that some stakeholders in the party led by Abdullahi Adamu, its national chairman boycotted the emergency meeting called by the presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu in Abuja on Wednesday.

The meeting between Tinubu, the governors of the party, members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) as well as Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) was called in order to harmonise the party’s presidential campaign council list and to also arrive at a date to flag-off the campaign.

Aside Adamu, other prominent stakeholders who were absent at the meeting were Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai and Rotimi Amaechi, immediate past Minister for Transportation.

In an interview with DAILY INDEPENDENT, Minister of Labour and Employment and Director of Public Affairs and Chief Spokesperson Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council, Festus Keyamo (SAN) said reports that the APC leaders boycotted the meeting is untrue.

According to him, those who couldn’t attend the meeting had pressing engagements and they sent in their apologies.

“Not at all. Reports that they boycotted the meeting is untrue. They all sent in their apologies for one reason or the other. I think that of Elrufai was because of the preparations for the Economic Summit that started in Kaduna today”.
