Delta Police Command Launches Police Week Activities to Mark National Police Day 2026

The Delta State Police Command hereby notifies the public of its readiness to participate in the forthcoming National Police Day 2026 celebration and announces the commencement of Police Week activities lined up to mark the occasion.
This year’s celebration, themed “Community Partnership: Building Trust”, underscores the critical role of collaboration between the police and the public in enhancing safety, fostering mutual confidence, and promoting sustainable peace.
In alignment with this theme, the Command has carefully outlined a series of impactful programmes designed to strengthen police–community relations, promote public safety awareness, and recognise the sacrifices and dedication of officers who continue to serve the nation with honour.
Scheduled Activities:
Monday, 30th March 2026
• Sanitation and Environmental Cleaning Exercise within the Asaba Metropolis
• Medical Outreach Programme at the Police Headquarters, Asaba
Tuesday, 31st March 2026
• Walkathon for Peace and Public Safety, commencing from the Police Headquarters through Challenge along Okpanam Road, Asaba
Wednesday, 1st April 2026
• Community Engagement and Sensitisation Programme, focusing on the dangers of electoral violence and the importance of safe driving practices
Thursday, 2nd April 2026
• Presentation of cheques to families of fallen officers, on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu psc (+), NPM, in honour of officers who paid the supreme price in the line of duty
Tuesday, 7th April 2026 (Abuja)
• Grand Finale: Ceremonial Parade and Tactical Display
