Crown Princess of Sweden has tested positive for COVID-19
1 min readThe Royal Court of Sweden announced on Saturday that Crown Princess Victoria has tested positive for COVID-19 and is experiencing mild symptoms.
Her parents, Sweden’s king and queen, both tested positive earlier this week, as part of a growing fourth wave of the virus driven by the highly contagious Omicron variant.
“The crown princess, who is 44 and has previously contracted the virus, was isolating at home with her family,” the Royal Court said in a statement.

“The crown princess, who has been fully vaccinated, is experiencing cold symptoms but otherwise appears to be in good health,” according to the court.
While COVID infections have risen sharply, hospitalizations have also risen sharply, putting pressure on the healthcare system, but they are still well below previous waves’ peaks. So far, the death rate has remained relatively low.
