Cover Your Faces In Shame, Apologise And Compensate Nigerian University Students For Negligence- Comrade Saviour to FG.

Comrade Saviour Iche blows hot on the disposition of the federal govt after 8 months of delayed academic session for federal universities due to the just settled irreconcilable differences between ASUU and FGN.
He said:
“Asuu strike had been called off after 8 months of deliberations, who suffered it more? The students, the lecturers or the federal government?
If you ask me, I will categorically and confidently say that the students suffered it more. There is a popular old saying which states that ” When two elephants clashes, the grass suffers more” that’s a typical example of the state the students have been placed.
What compensation can this students be given by the FG for a delayed academic session? They have missed 8 months while those in the private universities, universities abroad, some state universities and polytechnics are of a better advantage and have gone way ahead academically.
Let’s also look at the financial implications incurred…The parents of some students borrowed money to fulfil obligations for these students, most especially those who lives off campus and have paid for their lodges, their landlords will want a renewed rent despite the strike action, these lodges have been unused for 8 whole months which is a waste of funds, we arent even sure if lectures will commence in earnest based on the condition of the resumption.
How will the government compensate the student for this losses incurred? The federal Govt is not serious about educational priorities in Nigeria maybe partly because their children school abroad so they do not seem it fit to address certain decisions as regards education seriously.
While on strike, Senior Secondary School students took the WAEC and NECO exams which means admission for this set of school leavers might be denied due to a delayed academic year for the previous new intakes except there is a proper plan put in place to create a balance.

WAEC in turn failed students enmass in core subjects to further subject them to do a retake, a kind of tactics to delay admission processes into the university as a result of the pending strike. The federal govt has dastardly jeopardised the educational system in Nigeria.
During the strike period, most young lads indulged themselves in some fraudulent ways due to idleness , some young ladies engaged themselves in hookups and other displeasing activities, the number of students who went on strike will not be same number as those who will return to school because many of them are languishing in the prison for some offences committed due to idleness, poverty, peer pressure. Some ladies wont go back to school because they have been put in the family way
The Government ought to cover their faces in shame and also come out publicly to apologise to Nigerian youth, the future generations whom they have subjected to deprivation, these students should be compensated.”
