Chairmanship aspirant warns that the APC cannot go into 2023 as a divided house

Senator Mohammed Sani Musa, a candidate for the vacant All Progressives Congress (APC) national chairmanship, has warned that the ruling party cannot enter the 2023 general elections divided.
The senator for Niger East in the National Assembly also warned against the potentially disastrous consequences of approaching the general elections as a divided entity.

He urged party members and supporters to actively pursue the party’s unity and peace, claiming that the party had grown by leaps and bounds in 2021 under the Caretaker Committee led by Governor Mai Mala Buni.
“I wish to acknowledge the exploits of the leadership of our great party, APC, under Governor Mai Mala Buni, the governor of Yobe State, under whose administration the party has continued to grow in leaps and bounds,” he said in a statement he personally signed and made available to newsmen in Abuja.

“Our party had a bumper crop of governors and other political heavyweights from other parties in 2021.” As we enter the new year, and especially as we approach our party’s national convention, I implore every party member and supporter to prioritize the party’s unity and peace.
“Before, during, and after the convention, the party must remain a strong political entity. We must not overlook the greater challenge of the presidential election in 2023.
We can’t go into it divided, and we can’t win the trophy in that condition. As we head into the national convention this year, we should all uphold the party’s ideas. “Despite daunting challenges, such as dwindling government resources and security issues confronting our dear country, the APC administration led by President Buhari has recorded many successes,” Senator Musa said.
