Buhari condemns the killing of 45 farmers in Nasarawa
1 min readPresident Muhammadu Buhari condemned the assassination of 45 farmers in Nasarawa State’s Lafia, Obi, and Awe Local Government Areas on Tuesday.
Over 45 people were confirmed killed a few days ago after clashes between communities in the three local governments.
President Buhari’s spokesman, Garba Shehu, issued a statement on Tuesday night in which he expressed the nation’s condolences to the affected families.

“I assure the people with all seriousness and sensitivity that this administration is doing everything possible to protect people’s security and will leave no stone unturned in locating and prosecuting the perpetrators of this senseless and barbaric incident,” he said.
President Buhari also expressed his condolences to the state’s government and people, as well as his satisfaction with the state’s quick response to the incident.
CP Adesina Soyemi, the State Commissioner of Police, promised that the command would bring the perpetrators to justice and restore peace to the affected areas.
