Bandits attack three Kaduna LGs, killing seven people
2 min readSeven people were killed in three separate attacks by bandits in Kaduna State’s Igabi, Chikun, and Zango-Kataf Local Government Areas.
The attacks, according to Samuel Aruwan, the Kaduna State Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs, left many people injured, according to a statement released on Sunday.
According to Aruwan, the bandits first attacked Kerawa village in Igabi LG, killing four people and injuring one.
Lado Shuaibu, Usman Haruna Ayuba Muntari, and Jafar Abdullahi were among those killed in the attack, according to him.
“The bandits carted away some motorcycles and supplies from the community, injuring one Mallam Mamuda,” he said.
Bandits also attacked commuters along the Ungwan Rimi-Afana road in Zangon Kataf LGA, killing one person, according to the Commissioner.
“One Joshua Kawu was shot in the chest and rushed to the hospital, where he was unfortunately confirmed dead,” he continued.

“Security agencies have informed the Kaduna State Government that four people were killed and one injured during a bandit attack in Kerawa, Igabi LGA,” he said.
“According to the report, bandits attacked the village and killed four residents by shooting sporadically.”
Armed bandits attacked commuters on the Ungwan Rimi-Afana road in Zangon Kataf LGA in another incident. One Joshua Kawu was shot in the chest and rushed to the hospital, where he was unfortunately confirmed dead.”
Meanwhile, in a second statement titled ‘Bandits Kill Two in Igabi and Chikun LGAs,’ the Commissioner stated that security reports to the state government confirmed the killing of two people by bandits in the state’s Igabi and Chikun local government areas.
According to the report, bandits attacked Sabon Garin Ungwar Dalha, a village on the outskirts of the Maraban Jos area in the Igabi local government area, where a housewife was killed.
“The bandits attacked the village and broke into some homes while shooting into the air,” he explained. Hadiza Mohammed, a housewife, was killed instantly when she was caught in the crossfire.

“In the second incident, bandits ambushed Ungwan Zallah in Udawa, Chikun LGA, killing one Moses Jaja.”
Overall, Governor Nasir El-Rufai was quoted by the Commissioner as expressing sadness over the recent attacks and expressing his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families in the affected communities.
