The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja has ordered the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to call off its ongoing strike action with immediate effect.
ASUU, who has been on strike since February 14, 2022, had dragged the federal government before the court after the National Industrial Court (NIC) ordered an end to its ongoing strike action.
Ruling on the appeal on Friday, October 7, the court said the only condition that the union’s request will be given effect is if its members ended the strike action immediately pending the determination of the substantive suit.
The court gave ASUU seven days within which to file the appeal following the obedience of the ruling of the lower court.
