Asari Dokubo storms Abuja to join NLC protest, video goes viral

Asari Dokubo, leader of the Niger Delta Peoples Salvation Force (NDPSF) and a key ally to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has shockingly joined the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) protest against the Tinubu administration.

Dokubo was spotted in Abuja amongst thousands of Nigerians who have expressed their dissatisfaction with the current high cost of living since Tinubu went to the Aso Rock as the country’s president.

According to the NLC, Tinubu’s inaugural pronouncement that “subsidy is gone” has contributed highly to high cost of food and transportation, making life difficult for Nigerians.

The protests are taking place today, August 2, 2023, nationwide.

Nothing is stopping the protest – NLC president

The President of Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Joe Ajaero has stated in an interview with Channels TV that there is no way the protest can be stopped.

According to him, the body with the support of all Nigerians enduring hardship will go full-force in ensuring that their displeasure at the current bad state of livelihood is heard and addressed.

Nigeria’s labour unions have commenced nationwide protests.

President of Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Joe Ajaero, disclosed this on Wednesday in an interview with Channels Television at Unity Fountain, Abuja, where workers gathered to hit the streets.

He said there are some hindrances in the commencement of the protest in some states.

Ajaero said: “Protests have taken off in all states bearing some hindrances in some places. We are aware of the Police efforts to stop the process in some areas.

“To be candid with you, nothing is stopping the protest. Based on responses from state governments, it is equally our determination whether the protest will be for today, tomorrow or next, not by using force to stop the people from expressing their views. We are here for the protest, to make a statement to Nigerians”
