AMPEF Launches “Voice of the Voiceless” Studio, Empowers Over 20 Students With Culinary Vocational Skills

As part of its yearly empowerment programme in Lagos, the Ambassador of Peace and Enlightenment Foundation (AMPEF) certifies more than 20 teenage students following a period of acquiring a culinary vocational skill.
This year’s event, held on Saturday, December 13, 2025, made a significant impact with new innovations such as the unveiling of the AMPEF recording studio, a novelty match between the yellow and green teams, an on-the-spot cooking assignment done by the vocational skill of graduating students, cultural displays, dances, words of admonition by human advocate experts and other events.
Comrade Prince Saviour Iche, a human rights advocate and the founder of Ambassadors of Peace and Enlightenment Foundation (AMPEF), in his opening address reveals efforts undertaken within community development, including organising events that foster talent among youth. These initiatives include football competitions and culinary training sessions for children, aimed at uplifting their potential and providing them platforms to showcase their abilities. The culmination of their efforts is described through a recent event where children demonstrated various skills, receiving accolades for their skills in cooking, dancing, and singing.
While addressing the culinary skill of graduating students with a motivational speech, human rights lawyer Barr. Abiodun Kolawole, aka Iya Gani, emphasises the importance of individual involvement in societal change, asserting that government efforts alone are insufficient. Her message to the graduating students is a call to action, urging them to embrace their roles as trained by the Ambassadors for Peace and Enlightenment Foundation. She encouraged them to leverage the skills they have acquired to make a positive impact in their lives and communities.
In her speech, the trainees are reminded of their potential to shine and influence the world, stressing that personal growth and empowerment begin with self-belief. The metaphor of being “moved from magic to mastery” serves to inspire attendees to develop their talents and advocate for change.
Through repeated congratulations and affirmations of support, Iya Gani, during her speech, seeks to motivate the culinary skill students to take action, uphold their responsibilities, and harness their creativity. She sounded a reminder that every small effort contributes to larger societal progress, encouraging the young trainees to realise their potential and aim for greatness. Overall, her speech is marked by its emphasis on collective effort, personal commitment, and the belief that every individual can contribute to a brighter future.
Mrs Lolade Ajayi, an advocate for female brutalisation, in her speech, emphasised that femicide should be stopped. She highlights a significant day dedicated to the elimination of domestic violence against women and children, reinforcing the need for awareness and action.
Lolade addresses issues regarding abuse, specifically emphasising the importance of reporting both sexual and physical abuse. In her speech, she expressed understanding that many victims hesitate to approach the police due to stigma and humiliation, suggesting alternative reporting methods such as speaking to trusted adults or community members like Comrade Prince Saviour Iche. An urgent call to action is made for both men and women to no longer remain silent about abuse to prevent its continuation.
In her discussion with the audience, Lolade transitions to the concept of femicide, defined as the intentional killing of women, often by individuals close to them due to gender-based violence. She lists potential warning signs, or “red flags”, such as excessive jealousy, monitoring behaviour, and property destruction, which indicate a potentially abusive relationship, as Lolade encourages vigilance among women and emphasises that women should not be seen as victims but deserve respect and protection.
She concluded her address with a reminder for collective responsibility in protecting vulnerable individuals, encouraging audience members to report any suspected cases of abuse, particularly concerning children. She also mentions the availability of support from organisations focused on addressing abuse, such as her organisation and AMPEF.
The new recording studio by AMPEF, as officially unveiled, will serve multiple functions, such as creating live records of events and discussions concerning the state of the nation; running interviews for VIPs or any other invited guests on happenings around the globe; allowing individuals to visit to air their views on concerning issues; making live reports of life-threatening incidences; and so on.
Comrade Prince Saviour Iche’s statements on the unveiling of a new AMPEF studio highlight the vital role that social media plays in amplifying the voices of marginalised individuals, particularly those lacking traditional means of communication. He emphasised that while social media has unveiled long-standing issues within society, the underlying challenges persist. A significant innovation in human rights advocacy is showcased, wherein grassroots outreach allows individuals from remote areas to connect with authorities effectively as he advocates for honest and untainted media reporting as essential to the movement, underscoring their commitment to transparency and integrity.
He pivots to specific success stories by AMPEF, including a harrowing case of domestic violence involving a father who abused multiple partners and their children. Following a tragic incident where a four-year-old boy lost his life due to the father’s neglect and violence, the organisation’s intervention ‘AMPEF’ led to the apprehension of the culprits, highlighting their prompt response to emergencies. He details further rescue operations, underscoring the importance of returning children to their families, ensuring they receive education or vocational training, and sharing success stories of rescued individuals who are now thriving through amplified voices; hence, the new studio was created for that purpose.
The establishment of a new studio dedicated to the cause, named “Voice of the Voiceless”, has been unveiled. The studio aims to serve as a hub for communication and advocacy within the community, allowing individuals to share their experiences and seek assistance. Iche clarifies that the studio will not initially serve commercial purposes but rather aims to shed light on the struggles faced by vulnerable populations, ensuring that their grievances reach decision-makers. Ultimately, the intention is to facilitate truthful reporting and advocate for justice, leveraging their growing reputation and commitment to human rights.
The highlight of the event is the novelty match between the yellow and green teams, where the green team scored the highest number of goals against the yellow team of players, winning with scores of 3-2, respectively, and the on-the-spot assessment of food made by the graduating culinary skill trainees came out highly impressive, with 80% in the assessment.
Additionally, certificates were given to graduating culinary students and special visitors, and AMPEF’s new patrons and matrons were decorated. Moreover, the winning football team received a championship certificate, and both competing teams took home medals.
